What is in the Kit?
Everything you need to create the lamp of your dreams and more. The centrepiece is the dimmable amber spiral filament bulb with its vintage Edison feel and soothing warm glow. The perfect tone setter for any design-focused room.
The bulb screws into the socket which connects directly to the wall via a dimmer switch, all provided in the kit.
Filament Lamp Kit Bundle contains:
1. Sculpd Pottery Kit: 2kg air-dry clay, pottery tools, sponge, white paint, varnish, paintbrushes, pottery guide)
2. Filament Bulb & Fittings: Amber spiral filament bulb, bulb fittings (socket, cable, dimmer switch, wall plug), step by step illustrated lamp making guide. We also have the option of purchasing the Filament Bulb & Fittings separately if you already own a Sculpd Kit or have some clay and tools at the ready. We’d recommend 1 - 1.5kg of clay to create your lamp.
Who is this kit perfect for?
This kit is perfect for anyone who wants to feel like a craft hero / lighting design guru. It’s so rewarding to create your own lamp - It gets you every time you switch it on. If you are into trying new craft experiences or you just love the idea of making your own home decor, we say try making a lamp. It's about as good as it gets!
What kind of lamps can I make?
The beauty of clay is you can form it into any shape your crafty little imagination can conjure up. Imagine the wackiest lamp design you possibly can. Or if you prefer the minimalist style, you can create a smooth and symmetrical base, leave the paint off and let the clay do the talking for a more industrial look.
Is it suitable for beginners?
The build process is a lot of fun and a similar process to making a nice vase, except with a little more technique involved in cutting holes of the right size for the socket and fittings. Perfect for the naturally creative beginner, the crafty intermediate, or the home pottery pro looking to hone their skills with a new challenge. No electrical / lighting knowledge required!
We hope you enjoy making your first lamp, be sure to tag us on Insta @sculpdit to have your new creation featured and to be in with a chance of winning Sculpd of the Month.
